Reportorial: Losing My Religion: How I've Lost Faith in the Gospel According to Vogue :

My disdain for ‘re’blogging cannot be overstated, though if ever there was an occasion that called for a deterrence it’s this one. For those who follow me on Twitter (@SirelleCarter), you’re all too familiar with my Vogue cover rants.

So upon inadvertently stumbling onto this editorial I could do nothing but nod in agreement, and amazement as I concur with every single statement.

Without question I recognize that Anna is the best at what she does —- and I understand that fashion is too a business. However it just concerns me that millimeter-by-millimeter we are getting away from the basic principles when those such as Taylor Swift and Tina Fey (yes, TINA.FEY.) are represented on the cover.

I have nothing personal against those women, it’s simply that I cannot grasp what it is they bring to the table in the name of well, fashion!

Say what you want about the man’s past, but he is the finest competitor of my lifetime. I consciously refrain from referring to him as one of my favorite athletes, instead as one of my favorite human beings. He’s 100 miles an hour, 100 percent of the time. He plays the game as it’s intended to be played, with a passion unmatched. He is the ultimate warrior. He is longevity in the flesh. He is Ray Lewis. What time is it? Gametime.

Sound Session: The R.E.D. Album

The past two weeks have been very productive for the hip-hop/rap world, as there have been several album drops by industry heavyweights. One of the latest, however, being one of my favorite artists, Game.

Carrying West Coast rap on his back, the Compton native did not disappoint, as he hits a home run with his latest project. And as I won’t prematurely cross the foul line [yet] and say it’s better than his debut album, The Documentary, it’s undoubtedly in the rearview, gaining ground.

With 20-plus tracks and an array of features, I rarely found myself cutting any one of them short. Easily one of the best albums of the year, and below are a few of my early favorites.
