Reportorial: Losing My Religion: How I've Lost Faith in the Gospel According to Vogue
My disdain for ‘re’blogging cannot be overstated, though if ever there was an occasion that called for a deterrence it’s this one. For those who follow me on Twitter (@SirelleCarter), you’re all too familiar with my Vogue cover rants.
So upon inadvertently stumbling onto this editorial I could do nothing but nod in agreement, and amazement as I concur with every single statement.
Without question I recognize that Anna is the best at what she does —- and I understand that fashion is too a business. However it just concerns me that millimeter-by-millimeter we are getting away from the basic principles when those such as Taylor Swift and Tina Fey (yes, TINA.FEY.) are represented on the cover.
I have nothing personal against those women, it’s simply that I cannot grasp what it is they bring to the table in the name of well, fashion!
Vogue is my Bible. Well, it used to be.
I’ve been an avid reader since junior high, before I even knew what real fashion was (denim mini skirts with double-popped collar polos…enough said). Ever since I purchased my first issue, I was obsessed. I couldn’t get enough of the magazine.
